This report is the November 2019 issue of the NEEA Electricity Update, with data updated to the end of October 2019. The report presents data on electricity demand, electricity supply, and electricity generation emissions in the National Electricity Market (NEM), plus electricity demand in the South West Interconnected System (SWIS).

The Emissions Audit tracks Australia’s emissions of greenhouse gases from the combustion of fossil fuels every quarter. This issue contains data up to the end of June 2018.

This report includes a new analysis of the relative contributions of the three main factors causing the reduction in emissions for electricity generation in the National Electricity Market. The report ends with the usual monthly Electricity Update summary to the end of 2019.

This issue contains some new graphs that show the nation's energy transition over the more than twenty years since the National Electricity Market was launched, in December 1998. In addition, this report has a particular focus on South Australia, where the transition is most advanced.
