Through this research, the Automobile Association Research Foundation (AARF) wants to understand how many drink drivers are appearing before the courts that are eligible for an interlock sentence and what proportion of those are being given such a sentence.
This research looked at 200 fatal crashes where seat belts were not worn. It showed that 75% of victims were male and that young New Zealanders were over-represented.
