The purpose of this study was to use a partnership approach between three Regional Development Australia entities and CQUniversity to better identify, understand and plan appropriate responses to issues relating to resource sector development in regional Queensland.

In 2011-12, mineral exploration expenditure in Western Australia increased significantly to an all-time record of $2.1 billion. This result was 32 per cent higher than for 2010-11 and is 150 per cent higher than five years ago.
