AMP/ NATSEM Income and Wealth Report 7 looks at the savings and debts of people aged 50-69 - those about to retire and those just retired - to try and identify what happens to their superannuation and why it is not providing them with more income in retirement. There is a popular misconception that, on average, Australian retirees enjoy 'the good life'. The findings of this report do not support this view.
