This inquiry was triggered following a series of public reports of sexual assault and harassment in Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) workplaces. At a time when the prevalence of sexual harassment across industries and sectors was becoming increasingly apparent, the committee decided to look at the particulars in the mining industry.
