Too many Aboriginal children in and around Alice Springs grow up in an environment marked by poverty, substance abuse, and lack of responsive care and stimulation, with low levels of formal education and school attendance coupled with economic marginalisation and social exclusion.

This paper reports on the the research project Kurruna Mwarre Ingkintja – Good Spirit Men’s Place. The project was commissioned by the two organisations – Creating A Safe Supportive Environment and the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress.
