Australia's peak body for social services has released its election policy priorities for whole of government advisory structures.

ACOSS's submission to the Fair Work Commission's 2018–19 review of minimum wages discusses the links between minimum wage levels and poverty and equality, arguing for a substantial increase, regular benchmarking and ongoing consultation with stakeholders.

This report models a number of policy solutions that would reduce the amount people on low incomes spend on energy, in order to reduce their energy stress and support a faster transition to clean energy.

The numbers in this report demonstrate the role played by public policy - especially social security, but also housing and employment policies - in increasing or reducing poverty. The evidence shows that through social security, housing and employment policies, as a nation, we choose the level of poverty we are prepared to accept.

This report outlines the findings of an online survey of users of the Jobactive service, the main employment service for people who are unemployed, conducted by ACOSS between 7 and 22 July 2018.
