Regulation of the NDIS market, while still evolving, is a key part of achieving quality and safety in the delivery of supports. This report provides a summary of finding from consultations with NDIS providers to improve the regulatory arrangements and supporting systems to enhance the quality of services to NDIS participants.

This report reflects on a two year project, funded by the Victorian government, to help the disability sector protect society's more vulnerable people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

National Disability Services' State of the disability sector' report for 2022 is based on responses from 364 disability service providers who took part in this national, annual sector survey. The report reveals a difficult operating environment for most providers. However, there are some glimmers of hope, with a cautious expectation of positive change.

This report finds that frustration, uncertainty, and confusion are the hallmarks of the sector at this time. There are ongoing workforce issues, concerns over pricing, COVID-19, and a very uncertain policy environment for providers.
