This evaluation finds that Australia has provided strong and sustained leadership on ending violence against women and girls (EVAWG), and has been a leading program donor. Overall, the approaches used have aligned with best practice and made a significant contribution to EVAWG in the Indo-Pacific.

This evaluation puts forward a strong case for Australia to remain engaged with Asian middle-income countries (MICs), and argues that Australia can continue to build its comparative advantage as a partner in economic and social reform.

By outlining global evidence of what works to prevent violence against women and girls, this literature review provides one measure that Australia can use to assess the effectiveness of its investments and programs.

Ethical considerations are of considerable importance when conducting research on violence against women and girls (VAWG) and evaluating programming to end it.
