This book was commissioned to examine of the potential value of a specifically cultural perspective to the planning, service delivery and evaluation activities of local government. Published in 2001, it continues to be used today to underpin rigourous cultural planning strategies.
This work was recognised by the United Cities and Local Government Committee on Culture, who endorsed the Cultural Forum initiative as one of 120 global ‘good practice’ examples in the area of culture and local sustainable development.
