Leonardo Nascimento

Leonardo Nascimento joined NewClimate Institute as a climate policy analyst in February 2018. He works on tracking climate action and the quantitative analysis of GHG emission trajectories. Leonardo holds a degree in Physics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Brazil and a MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology from the University of Twente, in the Netherlands. During his masters, he focused on the interaction between people and technology, exploring decision-making strategies of different stakeholders. For his internship, he worked on a project designing strategies to make renewable energy projects more attractive to local governments at the TU Graz, Austria. In his master thesis, he developed a behavioural model about the creation of Local Energy Initiatives to investigate the effects of community cooperation and local leadership in the development of these projects.
