Rehabilitating land following mining is a major and growing issue for Western Australia, with around 2.5 million hectares of land currently under an active mining lease. This project collected and analysed publicly available information on the conditions for mine site rehabilitation in Western Australia.

A framework for developing mine-site completion criteria in Western Australia: project report

This report outlines environmental criteria that mine operators can use to demonstrate they have successfully and sustainably rehabilitated their site after mining. While the new guidance primarily targets the resources sector, other industries can potentially use the guidance when undertaking ecological restoration.

The Water Governance Reform Framework: overview and applications to Australia, Mexico, Tanzania, U.S.A and Vietnam

This article argues that a proposed Water Governance Reform Framework (WGRF) would provide a valuable approach to evaluate and improve water governance reform and, if employed within a broader water policy cycle, would help deliver improved water outcomes and more effective water reforms.
