The overall aim of this project is to better understand effective mechanisms for linking social protection programmes and humanitarian assistance. By providing clearer guidance about when, how and why different linkages might be considered, the project develops the theory, evidence base and operational guidance on how social protection systems and humanitarian systems can work together.

The potential of Nepal’s social security allowance schemes to support emergency flood response


The aim of this study is to complement ongoing work on the role of social protection in responding to emergencies in Nepal. The study uses a mixed-methods research approach to assess the potential role of the social security allowance (SSA) schemes to support emergency response efforts in future floods.
