This paper examines the evolution of the eleven regional parks in metropolitan Perth from concept to reality and explores some of the difficulties and benefits of managing parks in an environment where multiple tenure (including private landowners), community engagement and multiple agency involvement across different levels of government is the norm, rather than the exception.
