This document fulfils a number of functions, including articulating Victoria Police’s current and future counter terrorism priorities and activities. Importantly, it also seeks to heighten awareness of, and make more transparent, Victoria Police’s counter terrorism activities and guiding principles.

This audit examined whether Victoria Police has a control framework for property management that supports high performance and whether it prioritises and sustains improvement projects. It also examined whether Victoria Police stores and secures property in a way that supports frontline staff, reduces associated risks such as OHS risks, and maintains evidentiary value.

This report explores the debate over how to strike an appropriate balance between police responsibility for managing the conduct of their members and an external agency’s oversight and investigation of complaints about police.

This report identifies areas for improvement in Victoria Police’s internal investigations of serious complaints concerning allegations, such as corruption and assault made about its officers.

The New Zealand government is considering introducing an amendment to the Policing Act 2008 that would establish a legislative framework for the Police Vetting Service (currently there is none). No decisions have yet been made about legislation for vetting services provided by police. New Zealand Police is seeking the public's views on this proposal.
