Prime Minister Scott Morrison and other Coalition frontbenchers say Australians face being kicked off hospital waiting lists by an influx of asylum seekers and refugees seeking medical treatment in Australia under the so-called medevac legislation.

This is the third annual NHS workforce trends report published by the Health Foundation. Analysis of the NHS staff profile and trends in England in 2018 largely confirms the trends identified in our 2016 and 2017 reports, and shows an ongoing deterioration for some key staff groups.

This report examined the health services used by more than 37,300 people with coronary heart disease (CHD) who were discharged from a public hospital in New South Wales or Victoria between April 2012 and June 2013. The report analysed linked de-identified hospitalisation data to Medicare Benefits Schedule data and National Death Index data.
