This paper presents a range of economic and other statistical indicators for the states and territories of Australia. To facilitate comparisons, indicators are presented in relative terms such as growth rates, percentages, or proportions of gross state product, so comparisons can be made using equivalent measures.

This report describes the pregnancy and birth experiences and outcomes of mothers and babies in Australia over time. Data cover the antenatal period, labour and birth, and outcomes for babies at birth, as well as stillbirths, neonatal and maternal deaths.

By exploring representation through demographic lenses this analysis seeks to understand the pathways to political power. l finds the 47th Federal Parliament to be the most gender-equal and culturally diverse yet, although still not as culturally, linguistically or economically diverse as the people it represents.
