The outbreak of war in the Indo-Pacific is a real possibility. Increased competition, a growing trust deficit between global and regional powers, and potential miscalculations heighten the risk of doing so. This paper addresses some key priorities for the current Australian government.

The Global Diplomacy Index is an interactive tool that maps the world’s most significant diplomatic networks. It includes 66 countries or territories in Asia, the Group of 20 (G20), and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), drawing on data collected up to November 2023.

This report reviews international experience of national resilience strategies, planning and processes, to find lessons for Australia. It also examines a series of case studies in which national resilience has (or has not) proved instrumental in the weathering of crises.

This paper includes examples where cross-sector collaboration on foreign policy are already in action, and provides models and lessons that can be replicated in developing a whole-of-nation approach.
