The primary purpose of this research project has been to consult adult victim survivors who experienced domestic and family violence in their childhood or youth, so that we can better understand their situation and support needs at that time. This report presents findings from that survey.

Elder abuse in Australia: physical abuse
According to the AIFS 2021 Survey of Older People, 2% of community-dwelling people aged 65 and older in Australia reported experiencing physical abuse in the 12 months preceding the survey. The most common form of physical abuse reported was threats to harm, followed by reports of actual harm such as being grabbed, pushed or shoved.
