Data on the first year of New South Wales (NSW) landmark coercive control legislation, which came into force on 1 July 2024. The legislation criminalises patterns of abusive behaviour in intimate partner relationships, marking a significant shift in how domestic abuse is recognised and addressed.

In Australia, victim-survivors of domestic and family violence (DFV) are increasingly using closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems. This paper presents the findings from a world-first study into how victim survivors of DFV experience the use of CCTV systems. The findings demonstrate that CCTV can have beneficial impacts on the wellbeing of victim-survivors but also carries risks.

The strategy lays the foundation for the New South Wales domestic and family violence sector to support highly skilled workers who help victim-survivors stay safe, heal and recover. It includes actions such as prioritising workplace safety, health and wellbeing, improving workforce recruitment and renewal, driving workforce diversity, boosting collaboration and supporting skill and capability development.

The report is the culmination of a 12-month Royal Commission involving extensive engagement with South Australians impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence. It contains 136 recommendations which lay out a roadmap for the state in which domestic, family and sexual violence is no longer tolerated and no longer possible.

A research report into the harms enacted in the course of family violence policing. The report documents Victorian frontline workers' experiences of police responses to family violence. It finds that harmful family violence policing practices are extremely frequent and widespread across the state, and that alternative community-based response pathways for victim-survivors are urgently needed.
