This report provides evidence-based insights to see if our actions today are laying the right foundation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Climate Change Authority has released this consultation paper on updating its previous advice to the federal government on policies to meet Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions reduction commitments under the Paris Agreement. Stakeholder contributions will inform the Authority’s final report, which it is aiming to release at the end of 2019.

Combating climate change requires unified action across all sectors of society. However, this collective action is precluded by the ‘consensus gap’ between scientific knowledge and public opinion.

This policy report provides an overview of current issues in climate change litigation, focusing on selected cases and developments from May 2018 to May 2019.

Recommendations within this report aim to implement actions to achieve improvements in the urban climate by improving the canopy cover in the private realm.
