Description

The National School Drug Education Strategy was prepared by the National Advisory Committee on School Drug Education after extensive consultation with education, health and law enforcement professionals, parent groups, individuals and community organisations with its fundamental goal being “no illicit drugs in schools”.   The National School Drug Education Strategy demonstrates the Commonwealth Government’s recognition that schools are critical places to educate young people to the harm of drug misuse through school drug education initiatives. It provides the historical development and relationships of the strategy, the principles for drug education in schools, detailed objectives, outcomes and performance indicators, and implementation, reporting, review and evaluation timelines.
