Cyber security readiness for the 2026 Census


The Census is Australia’s largest data collection exercise and has followed a digital-first approach since 2016. The objective of this audit was to assess the readiness of the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ cyber security arrangements for the 2026 Census. To be ready for the 2026 Census, the ABS must address key remaining cyber security vulnerabilities.

Disability data measures project


This project seeks to improve disability data collection following the Disability Royal Commission’s call for consistency across surveys and services. Findings suggest that a strong conceptual framework and minimal question set can produce detailed, nationally consistent data. Further consultation, refinement and testing are needed for implementation.

The analysis of the VET National Data Asset (VNDA) provides valuable insights into student outcomes achieved through completion of a VET program of study. This analysis covers the top 100 course completions in the 2018-19 financial year, representing 66.5% of all VET course completions.
