Victorian Privacy Commission annual report 2011-2012

This report looks into the current and future challenges of copyright and information privacy laws in Australia.
To meet these objectives, Privacy Victoria provides advice and guidance to organisations subject to the Information Privacy Act at their request on existing or proposed acts or practices of the organisation or on legislative proposals or anticipated projects which may impact on the privacy rights of Victorians. 
Privacy Victoria may also initiate contact with an organisation when privacy issues are discovered (either by media reports or via the complaints function) to ensure that the organisation is fully cognisant of its obligations under the Information Privacy Act.
