This report presents data on criminal cases finalised in 2012 in the New South Wales Local, Children’s, District and Supreme Courts.

It finds that criminal disposals have fallen across all court levels. In the Local Court, the number of persons/organisations with a finalised matter decreased 5.8 per cent (down from 115,206 in 2011 to 108,528 in 2012). In the Children’s Court, there was an 8.3 per cent decrease in the number of persons with a matter finalised (down from 8,633 in 2011 to 7,919 in 2012) and in the Higher Court there was a 5.6 per cent decrease in persons finalised in trial and sentence matters (down from 3,491 in 2011 to 3,297 in 2012).
