The Framework for reform (August 2013) sets out the plan to progressively reform the alcohol and drug treatment service system in accordance with the directions set in New directions for alcohol and drug treatment services – A roadmap.

Recommissioning of adult non-residential alcohol and drug treatment services is to occur in 2013-14 and new arrangements to be in place from 1 July 2014.

These reforms are a vital part of Victoria’s whole-of-government strategy Reducing the alcohol and drug toll: Victoria’s plan 2013-17.

Further work will be undertaken on reform directions for adult residential and youth services during 2014 and they will be recommissioned separately at a later stage.
