This procurement connected policy outlines the key components of the Commonwealth Government’s policy to increase the integrity of government procurement, as recommended in the Black Economy Taskforce’s final report.

The Taskforce’s final report highlights the harm that the black economy causes to honest businesses and the community, penalising honest taxpayers, undermining the integrity of Australia’s tax and welfare systems and creating an uneven playing field for the majority of small businesses doing the right thing.

This discussion paper, by the Black Economy Taskforce, outlines a number of additional policy ideas which draw on recent public and stakeholder consultations.

The Black Economy Taskforce has been established to develop an innovative, forward-looking, whole-of-government policy response to combat the black economy in Australia. The Taskforce invites all interested parties to make a submission on this interim report.
