Informed by international examples, this paper explores methods by which the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) could be enshrined in Victoria's Treaty process.
This discussion paper explores how Aboriginal Victorians might achieve recognition of their sovereignty, control over their own affairs, and enshrine their rights to self-determination and culture.
This treaty engagement report was informed by meetings with Victorian Traditional Owners, and the Federation of Victorian Traditional Owner Corporations' research and policy development.
The development of this strategy was funded by the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, to support Traditional Owner rights and interests in reintroducing Cultural Fire to the landscape.
