This plan outlines the focus for the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council of NSW (AH&MRC) and is based on the emerging themes and priorities identified by our member services as important to our communities and the Aboriginal community controlled health sector in NSW.

This literature review collates and synthesises the published literature documenting the contributions Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) have made to the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities.

In partnership with the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council of New South Wales, the NSW Government has developed this ten-year Aboriginal health plan. The plan is an acknowledgement of the significant health disparities between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in NSW and reflects the NSW Government’s commitment to closing this gap.

The Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council has compiled these stories from NSW Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services to demonstrate the success and potential of these Aboriginal community initiatives.
