Female perpetrated intimate partner homicide: Indigenous and non-Indigenous offenders
The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet commissioned the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) to undertake research into female perpetrated domestic violence and homicide. This study uses a descriptive and exploratory approach to analyse these factors in homicides committed by Indigenous and non-Indigenous women against their male partners.

Findings contained in this research report indicate that police can influence the likelihood of further violence, victim satisfaction and wellbeing, and criminal justice outcomes for people involved in domestic violence cases.

Who reports domestic violence to police? A review of the evidence
This analysis found that victims who are female, non-white, experiencing frequent violence and who have been abused in the past are more likely to report. Incidents that involve serious violence, an intoxicated offender and/or child witnesses are also more likely to be reported to the police.
