The NSW Government has established an Independent Toll Review to identify reform options to overhaul the road toll system in New South Wales. The reviewers are inviting feedback and commentary on this interim report, which presents the culmination of work to date with initial findings and recommendations for toll reform.

This report summarises key policy issues, and draws on inquiry submissions, to develop a set of recommendations on price and competition policy which, if adopted, would substantially improve competition and decrease the price pressure faced by Australian consumers.

This report addresses serious and systemic problems in the taxi industry and recommends reforms that are expected to take three to five years to implement in full.
