This document contains six good practice guidelines that organisations can follow to create quality resources. Each guideline has a set of indicators to show what good practice looks like and how to work towards it.

The wave of civic space constraints – which is unlikely to recede soon – has been the focus of much study and discussion. This report examines how donor governments can effectively support civic space in this challenging environment.

Algorithmic decision-making is becoming more common every day. Increasingly, important decisions that affect people’s lives are governed by datasets that are too big for an individual to process.

This report uses moving, first-person testimonies and in-depth interviews, to reveal how confessions are forced and extracted through threats, torture, and fear; how police dictate and direct confessions; and how they are often used as tools of propaganda for both domestic audiences and as part of China’s foreign policy.

This paper details a new methodology developed to measure civil and political rights violations in a pilot sample of 13 diverse countries. In doing so, we discuss the problems present in previous attempts to measure civil and political rights cross-nationally and argue that our approach overcomes many of those problems.
