It is becoming increasingly crucial to develop methods and strategies to assess building performance under the changing climate and to yield a more sustainable and resilient design. However, the outputs of climate models have a coarse spatial and temporal resolution and cannot be used directly in building energy simulation tools.

This strategy document is designed to accelerate action, with four clearly defined steps: differentiate sustainable housing in the market; train and reward the construction industry; build awareness; and broadcast the positive business case.

The Cooperative Research Centre for Low Carbon Living (CRCLCL) research project Mainstreaming Net Zero Energy Housing aims to improve industry understanding of Net Zero Energy Homes (NZEH) while addressing cost and consumer interest barriers.
