Do higher unemployment benefits reduce incentives to work?
The JobSeeker Coronavirus Supplement was designed to support households that experienced job loss during the COVID-19 pandemic. This paper found that these higher benefit payments lead to a change in labour market behaviour, reducing the incentive for people to work. It provides three lessons from the research.

Lessons from COVID-19 to prepare Aotearoa New Zealand for a future pandemic
The Inquiry found that addressing the social and economic impacts of pandemics requires policies that promote equity and protect the vulnerable, and recommends restructuring governance so a central agency can coordinate future pandemic preparedness. Based on its analysis, the report offers 39 recommendations to strengthen pandemic preparedness.

This inquiry reviewed the Commonwealth Government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic to identify lessons learned to improve Australia’s preparedness for future pandemics. Lessons learnt from the first two SARS‐CoV‐2 Omicron waves of the COVID‐19 pandemic in six remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Queensland, Australia
This retrospective epidemiological review of the impact of COVID-19 on remote First Nations communities shows that co‐designed, collaborative partnerships between local councils, community‐controlled health services, state health services and public health units positively impacted health outcomes.
