This position paper demonstrates that the evidence generated through the evaluation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs is rarely used to inform genuine policy and practice shifts across Australia. The paper calls for a more intentional and accountable approach from policymakers, commissioning bodies and governments. It provides a series of recommendations.

The aim of the NDIS Alternative Commissioning Pilots in remote and First Nations communities was to co-design, implement and evaluate place-based, community-driven alternative commissioning models in partnership with communities. This report contains the findings of the evaluation to support the future development and scaling up of alternative commissioning. It makes 10 overall recommendations.

Evaluation of the operation of amendments made by the Native Title Legislation Amendment Act 2021
The Native Title Legislation Amendment Act 2021 introduced legislative changes with the intention of improving native title claims resolution, agreement-making, Indigenous decision-making and dispute resolution processes. This evaluation found continued support for measures aimed at providing flexibility, efficiency and certainty, as well as post-determination dispute resolution, and they were seen to be operating as intended.

The Hoops 4 Wealth (H4W) program aimed to enhance the financial capability and resilience of people on low incomes living in the Northern Territory. This report describes the results of a developmental evaluation which found strong positive outcomes for program participants in financial literacy, money management, goal setting and meeting obligations.
