This report explores the experiences of vulnerable people making complaints under NSW and Commonwealth discrimination law, and details recommended best practice for conciliation processes to ensure people who are disadvantaged are able to access dispute resolution processes equitably.

The Victorian Aboriginal Justice Agreement (AJA) is a long-term partnership between the Aboriginal community and the Victorian government. The signatories of the agreement are committed to working together to improve Aboriginal justice outcomes, family and community safety, and reduce over-representation in the Victorian criminal justice system.

On 14 March 1977, the first non-Indigenous community legal centre in New South Wales, established in Redfern Town Hall, opened its doors to clients.

On 16 December 2016, the Attorney-General, the Hon. Martin Pakula MP, asked the Victorian Law Reform Commission to report on ways to ensure that litigants who use the services of litigation funders or participate in group proceedings (class actions) are not exposed to unfair risks or disproportionate cost burdens.

This report drew input from a global cast of stakeholders in international dispute resolution. In the aggregate, its results were not surprising, highlighting a global focus on efficiency, collaboration, and pre-dispute and mixed-mode dispute resolution protocols.
