In this integrated report, the views of children and young people across Australia sit in close association with the contributions of 93 non-government organisations (NGOs) and subject matter experts committed to improving the protection, promotion and fulfilment of the rights of all children and young people in Australia.

Organisations The North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA), and The Aboriginal Peak Organisations Northern Territory (APO NT), have come together to develop this report to ensure that the perspectives and circumstances of Aboriginal Children in the Northern Territory are given the attention they demand in the Committee’s next set of concluding observations to Australia.

The 10-year strategy highlights the importance of empowering parents, carers, family and community, and being a culturally responsive organisation to support education and development of Aboriginal children and young people.

This paper sets out a culturally-based practice framework for understanding and responding to child sexual abuse. The framework is designed to create and restore safety and healing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities.

The ACT government is currently conducting a review of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in the ACT child protection system. This interim report oulines a number of recommendations that have already been made.
