This interim report includes an update on the Committee’s activities to date, and emerging themes identified through recent reports into Australia’s mental health system and engagement with the Productivity Commission, National Mental Health Commission and Department of Health.

In this final report, the Royal Commission has set out an ambitious reform agenda to redesign Victoria’s mental health and wellbeing system. Achieving the vision will require a collaborative and collective effort, and shared responsibility across governments, service providers, community groups, advocates, people with lived experience of mental illness, families, carers and supporters.

From July to October 2020, researchers connected with CP beneficiaries and volunteers to explore their experiences, perceptions and practices. The aim of the exploratory study was to reflect on the significant value of animals in the lives of older adults, and the important role of CP in facilitating these experiences.

In this discussion paper, Dementia Australia shares stories from those impacted by COVID-19 and dementia so that we may learn from their experiences and adapt or inform policies and programs to better support people living with dementia, their families and carers.

Care is fundamental to family life and our community wellbeing. This study looked at a group of more than 30,000 people in the Central and Eastern Sydney region who were recruited to the Sax Institute’s 45 and Up Study around 2008, and have been followed since.
