This research report provides a summary of the data collected in the first three waves of the study – approximately a five year period. The report examines children’s child protection backgrounds, permanency trajectories and developmental trajectories.

Australia’s first Indigenous Senior Counsel, Tony McAvoy SC is a Wirdi man who is Co-Chair of the Indigenous Legal Issues Committee of the Law Council of Australia, and has recently assisted the Royal Commission into Youth Detention in the Northern Territory.

Djirra is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation, which provides holistic, culturally safe and specialist legal and non-legal support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who experience family violence – predominantly women. Antoinette Braybrook is the CEO of Djirra.

Toni Janke is a Wuthathi/Meriam woman from Cape York and Murray Island in the Torres Strait. Toni is Coordinator, Indigenous Services at Centacare Family and Relationship Services in Brisbane, and represents Queensland in the Family Matters Aboriginal Leadership Group.
