The toolkit offers a framework to support governments in designing and implementing effective energy efficiency measures by combining policies across three core pillars: regulation, information and incentives. It incorporates a wide range of case studies and provides 10 strategic principles to help guide policymakers to enhance and expand their energy efficiency policies and programs.

Measuring What Matters (MWM) is a national wellbeing framework intended to track Australia’s progress that extends beyond purely economic measures. This audit finds the design and implementation of the MWM framework by the Department of the Treasury largely effective. Two recommendations made by the audit to the Department were both accepted.
