Barriers and enablers for effective support coordination in the National Disability Insurance Scheme
Drawing on interviews with a range of stakeholders, this article explores the role of support coordinator in the National Disability Insurance Scheme. It makes recommendations to support people in these intermediary roles and address issues with unclear role delineation and system complexity.

Culturally safe assistive technology provision in Australia
This study explores inequities in Assistive Technology (AT) access for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Secondary analysis identified barriers and facilitators across people, products, personnel, provision and policy, generating nine principles for culturally safe AT delivery. The findings highlight actions needed for respectful and effective AT programs.

The interface between Australia's aged care system and the National Disability Insurance Scheme: population perspectives
Australia’s aged care and disability systems meet at age 65. Despite this boundary, people move fluidly between systems. This paper reviews the development of eligibility criteria, describes the scale and characteristics of the interface populations and analyses the patterns of service use across the age 65 boundary.

Placing rural in the National Disability Insurance Scheme review
This article examines the 2023 Independent Review of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), assessing how processes, recommendations and actions considered regional, rural and remote (RRR) contexts. Findings show the Review insufficiently addressed RRR needs and offers recommendations to guide policymakers toward a more inclusive disability policy.

‘Giving back to our community’: the retention of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander disability workforce in New South Wales, Australia
This Aboriginal-led study examines the factors that influence the retention of non-university qualified Aboriginal health, ageing and disability workers in New South Wales. The findings provide insights into retention factors that strengthen disability service provider practices and inform government policy.
