A new planning framework has been developed for an extended Subiaco Redevelopment Area, including the Princess Margaret Hospital site, Subiaco Oval, Kitchener Park and surrounding land. 

Draft Scheme 2 will transfer planning authority from Western Australian Planning Commission and City of Subiaco to MRA for the new Subiaco East Project Area and will provide an updated statutory planning framework for the Subi Centro Project Area.

The Metropolitan Redevelopment authority is inviting comment on the draft scheme, as well as the following draft Development Policies:

 Development Policy 1 – Green Building

Development Policy 2 – Heritage

Development Policy 3 – Sound and Vibration Attenuation

Development Policy 4 – Public Art

Development Policy 5 – Additional Structures

Development Policy 6 – Signage

Development Policy 7 – Home Based Business

Development Policy 8 – Hosting Public Events

Development Policy 9 – Affordable and Diverse Housing

Development Policy 10 – Adaptable Housing

The draft Development Policies are proposed to replace the existing Planning Policies for the Subiaco Redevelopment Area following the gazettal of the proposed Subiaco Redevelopment Scheme 2.
