Yokohama City’s Policy Regarding Culture, Art and Creative City Measures | 9.87 MB |
"Since 2004, the city of Yokohama, has become one of the frontier creative cities in Asia by launching its creative city policy known as Creative City Yokohama. Yokohama’s creative city policy – unlike its western counterparts – has been positively evaluated for its aim not only to reform urban infrastructure but also to regenerate local community and social welfare. Two key sites of Yokohama’s creative city policy, the Kannia and the Koganecho areas, have been highlighted as exemplar cases for demonstrating how creative city policy can function as one of 'social inclusion'" (Changwook Kim 2019, pp. 39-40). This policy included in this collection is of significance to the Cultural Policy & Creative Industries collection as an example of creative development in the Asian region.
