This report uses hospital separations data from the National Hospital Morbidity Database to describe fall-related hospitalisations in the financial year 2006–07 and to present results of trends analyses for the period 1999–2007.

This report is the third in a series on hospitalisations due to falls by people aged 65 and older in Australia. The two earlier reports analysed hospitalised falls in the financial years 2003–04  and 2005–06. The present report uses hospital separations data from the National Hospital Morbidity Database to describe fall-related hospitalisations in the financial year 2006–07 and to present results of trends analyses for the period 1999–2007.
