As costs rapidly fall and technologies improve, battery storage of all kinds is set to boom across Australia, with benefits from bill savings, further cuts to climate pollution and a more reliable grid. 

As the world’s top producer of lithium, both the public and private sectors are already investing significantly to unlock this economic opportunity and create more local jobs by manufacturing and reprocessing batteries in Australia. This report argues that with targeted policies, Australia can ramp up battery storage and make the most of this opportunity.
