Regional perspectives research project: phase 2 summary report
The Regional Perspectives Project was about listening to, and learning from, Pacific people on a range of topics that reflect Pacific priorities, including relationships with other countries. This report presents a summary of the key findings from Phase 2 of the research undertaken in Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. It should be read in conjunction with the summary of Phase 1 summary report published in June 2024.
The recommendations have been developed by the research teams and are based on the combined findings of Phases 1 and 2 of the research. They identify recommendations for the respective governments.
The findings for Solomon Islands are themed around:
- connection, communication and information
- bilateral partnership
- youth, women, and people with a disability
- governance
- peacebuilding.
The findings for Vanuatu are themed around:
- community centred development
- integration of customary and modern governance
- leadership and political transparency
- climate-induced and natural disasters
- security and community development priorities.
