It is aimed at supporting the local space industry to deliver the essential services Australians rely on, own more of the value chain, realise benefits beyond space and extend capability into global markets. 

The statement identifies five focus areas where Australia’s space capability has unique opportunities, has market potential and supports national resilience. The focus areas are:

1. trusted space services
2. spaceflight ecosystem
3. space platforms
4. microgravity ecosystem
5. exploration technologies.

The statement also identifies where Government activity can enable conditions for greater investment, coordination and delivery.
