The AIC's National Firearms Theft Monitoring Program (NFTMP) provides relevant and timely information on the nature and characteristics of firearms theft occurring in Australia. This report provides information on the 626 incidents of firearms theft reported to police in Australian states and territories in 2006-07, with details on circumstances of the theft, reporting to police, compliance with regulations and recovery of stolen items.
