Report
Description
Young Australians are more likely to be underemployed - to have some work but want more hours - than at any time in the last 36 years. Analysis of ABS data indicates that more than 580,000 young people are either underemployed or unemployed. Young people in the workforce are more likely to be in non-permanent jobs than other age groups, especially since the global financial crisis. Their goals of having a home, a job, relationships and a decent income are becoming more elusive.
