Description
Updates Mouzos and Rushforth’s (2003) findings describing characteristics of domestic/family homicides in Australia from 1 July 2002 to 30 June 2012.
Introduction
In 2003, the Australian Institute of Criminology published a report that drew attention to the characteristics of domestic/family homicide based on the differing family relationships between victims and offenders (Mouzos & Rushforth 2003).
This report presents data for the period 1 July 2002 through 30 June 2012 and provides an update to Mouzos and Rushforth (2003) and supplementary data to that disseminated in the Australian Institute of Criminology’s latest National Homicide Monitoring Program report covering the years 2010– 12.
